The Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County (PSABC) is a non-profit historic preservation organization located in the city of Asheville, in the mountains of western North Carolina.
 The Society has recently renovated, and now relocated to the historic E.W. Grove Real Estate Office building in Asheville and is seeking a temporary office manager to help organize the new office space.
The temporary office manager will be responsible for supporting the overall day-to-day program needs of the PSABC, maintaining regular office hours at the Society's office, assisting with events, committees, and administrative activities of the organization.
A primary responsibility of this position will be to organize the society's computer and paper files as well as the physical office space. Position will require occasional work outside of regular office hours in support of various society meetings and events. All time spent outside of regular hours will be compensated.
Duties:
 Maintain regular office hours as determined between office manager and executive committee (20 hours per week, preferably 5 days per week)
 Organize and maintain paper and computer filing systems
 Perform typical office administrative duties
 Receive and record checks, make bank deposits
 Provide member services and renewal process support
 Communicate and report to Board at monthly meetings on activities
 Attend all Board meetings
 Attend committee meetings as requested
 Support for general membership meetings and parties
 Provide logistical support for special projects
 Assistance with projects as requested by committees
 Maintain communication with the Board, membership, and general public through email, newsletters, press releases, and Society's website
Qualifications:
 Computer competency in Microsoft and web-based programs
 Organizational skills
 Commitment to communication and teamwork
 Ability to work unsupervised
 Preference to candidates with a Bachelor's degree or a minimum of five years office management experience, and a background in historic preservation
